Seen the New Parramatta L4 trams on test recently unfortunately it won't launch until transdev can get the drivers to operate the route 4 minutes faster from what I hear

I've also seen New L1 Trams on test but yet to see any in service personally.

Recently added Shipley Glen to my list in company with my two and a half year old grandson. I am not sure which of us was more excited

I've not read much about light rail in Spain but they have evidently opened several systems, including one on Tenerife, since the 1990s, with more under construction. Anyone know how successful they have been? Once again the UK is seen as lagging behind progress in mainland Europe.
As I now reread this thread-and did hardly see any total counts, to this question not responded to:
One of these new ´systems=1 single line (and I was on it when operating) is closed as too few pax; VELEZ Malaga, on the south coast east of Malaga-but they now seem quite committed to re-opening it again. And a not yet and still waiting to possibly open similar system in Jaen-also Andalucia. Last one to open as partly converted and then newly built branch is from Cadiz-again Andalucia, but done by RENFE=state railway and yes, I´ve been on it. I am not aware of any other really new systems being built-but some extensions to existing systems are: like in Barcelona it is intended to link up the now still separate lines.
In general though it seems the newly opened systems-over 10, have been quite succesfull in nr of pax carried-though most of them simply replaced very busy buslines and were building as a heavy metro was a bit overdone, but less so in finance.
A good site for overveiws, network maps and even news of openings expected etc is-beside of course the works of the LRTA/Modern Tramway, Urbanrail.net, by someone who also published it in print as atlases- mostly in german.

Wikipedia pages often include daily users, although not always up to date. Tenerife is given as 50,000 users per day, which sounds like a success. The only Spanish tram I have been on was the one in Bilbao and that was very busy every time we used it
I'm hoping to get to Bilbao later this year. I read that, in the case of tramways in Jaén and Vélez-Málaga, local politics seem to have played a part, but in the latter case the town centre extension was never opened. Nevertheless Spain has made more progress than the UK, from a similar starting point in the 1990s (i.e. few first generation tramways remaining).

Has anyone mentioned the Summerlee museum tramway in Coatbridge? curious if anyone else has travelled on Düsseldorf tramcar 392 either in Düsseldorf before 1972 or in Sumerlee

Or in general if anyone here has travelled on a secific tramcar in regular service that has since gone to a museum.

I travelled on most of the post-2011 preserved Blackpool cars in Blackpool, and have done again since at their new homes (where applicable).

While I have not visited Milan, a neighbour currently there has sent me a short video clip that might be of interest. Wikipedia states that these tramcars were delivered in 1929–1930, so are nearly 100 years old - 502 were built, of which about 135 remain in service.

Since my original post on the thread two and a half years ago, I've been on the Sheffield Supertram as well. A very enjoyable excursion, although the information screens weren't entirely trustworthy, but on the plus side I did get randomly treated to a few magic tricks by a punter! Only in the North...!

In some examples selected, I've not used all of the system, mainly newer parts of UK systems.

Cliff systems: all three at Scarborough, though only one survives in service. Also Folkstone, Lynton/Lynmouth.

Discovered the other day when looking through my Google photos that I used the trams in Rome in 2018 (I had forgotten we had, but hazily remember now.)

Scarborough has two surviving cliff tramways, the Scarborough Spa Cliff Lift and the Central Tramway. Both serve the south bay.

There is a third serving the south bay which is now decommissioned; both cars have been moved to the top of the incline and are now used as a cafe, if memory serves. I believe at some point in history there was also a fourth and possibly a fifth, serving the north bay.

There were, indeed, 2 Cliff Lifts in North Bay although not operating at the same times.

The first, Queens Parade Cliff Lift, had its top on Queens Parade near the top of Albert Road and its foot on Royal Albert Drive opposite the (long gone) Promenade Pier.
It opened on 8 August 1878 and closed the same day after one car broke free and crashed into the lower station. It reopened the following year and thereafter was plagued with landslips which finally caused it to close in 1887.

The second, North Bay Cliff Lift, had its top behind the Floral Hall and its foot opposite the Corner Cafe.
It opened in August 1930 and closed in Sept 1996. needing expensive repair and maintenance.
