Which trains have no toilet provision?

Good point. I'm based near the Manchester Metrolink tram system, end-to-end journey times on there of up to an hour (or thereabouts), and no toilets on any of the trams, and scarcely any at any of the stations.

The LU Central line trains from Epping to West Ruislip, (c. 55Km) take about 85 minutes end to end. On this and some of the other journeys mentioned in the thread, the volume of end-to-end journeys made mean that that lack of toilet facilities are not necessarily the issue that the journey times might appear to make them.

The Western Region under BR had a policy on summer dated trains of trying, in so far as possible, to not use stock without toilets on journeys of over two hours.

I think that's about the maximum you could do, but ideally probably more like one hour today.

Here's 57209/57212 on an outing as a pair. They had recently been released from between a pair of 150/1s (reclassified 150/9s).

Thanks, don't think you really need them on the IoW, max journey time being about 20 minutes and there being toilets at Shanklin and Ryde; possibly elsewhere too.

Another problem for the Island Line would be finding room at the depot for the tank emptying point, it's pretty cramped there.

Given the shortness of the line, I don't think it's really an issue, even more so given the main stations all have toilets anyway.

This is true, but it wouldn't surprise me if some on the island decided they were going to grumble about not having toilets on board when most of the mainland does. A bit like in the thread about dumping on the tracks, the average person probably doesn't think about what happens to their "business" once they push the button.
