Which TOCs will book a seat close to your reserved bike space

I read recently that Avanti will automatically try and book your seat close to your reserved bike space if you select both in the same booking.

Is this true in anyone's experience? and do other TOCs do likewise?

For long-distance travel this would come in handy if you want to keep an eye on your bike.

On Pendolinos there are 3 rows at the back of Coach A which are generally labelled "reserved cyclist", it'll be one of those.

On any other TOC with reserved seating you can use Trainsplit's seat selector to pick where you sit.

Yeah it's just hit or miss - ScotRail has a bike coach on their 153s (which is really limited), but it's +£10 fee (imo worth it).

But other than that, no other TOC really does this - as said above, just use a seat selector.

Trainsplit looks great for picking your seat but doesn't seem to do cycle reservations at all.

Do Avanti do bike reservations by Twitter? You could get one that way and once sure it is available then book the ticket, perhaps?
