Following on from this thread on the Network Rail timetable no longer being available as a paper publication at https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/network-rail-timetable-no-longer-on-paper-options.219279/ I see that Chiltern has put up posters at its stations announcing that it will no longer be issuing paper timetables as part of its drive to become "a more sustainable railway". Instead you can access the Chiltern timetables via the operator's website and ticket office staff can print out timetables if requested.

I wonder which train operators (if any) do still produce paper timetables? Apart from the fact that many people (though by no means everyone) who are tech-savvy are happy to use more high-tech means of obtaining timetable information, meaning that the demand for paper timetables has diminished, there is also the problem that fluctuating levels of demand according to the Covid situation means that timetables often change every few weeks and at short notice.

This year, I've only managed to pick up three printed timetables.
Two were promotional timetables; one for the Esk Valley Line to Whitby, and the other for the Conwy Valley line between Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog. The later was unfortunately incorrect when I picked it up, due to the first and last trains not running.
The second was a superb booklet that has been put together by Northern, covering the scenic/tourist routes around Lancashire and Cumbria (from memory, the S&C, Cumbrian Coast, Windermere, Carlisle - Newcastle and Morcambe - Leeds lines were included)

Not seen any since early 2020. Scotrail stopped producing them before Covid.

The problem with using only electronic formats is that it’s not very convenient to carry a timetable around with you

PDF timetables will be fairly hard to read and navigate on a phone, and journey planners only come back with the specific journey that was requested, rather than an overview of the general frequency, pattern of service etc

At Penzance Yesterday there was quite a good stock of GWR Timetables, both the Local branches for Cornwall and the bigger Reigonal Ones

Its only selected ones that are being printed though, mostly, though not entirely, on the Devon and Cornwall branches for the holidaymakers
