Which ticket for Heathrow T5?

On Monday I wish to travel on the 0644 thameslink service from east grinstead via Farringdon and the Elizabeth Line to heathrow T5

Which ticket should I buy? The southern journey planner offers no fares between the two stations.

It offers an East Grinstead to Hanwell ticket, plus a ticket from Hanwell to Heathrow for £28.60.

There's no through ticket available other than one routed "SOUTHERN & HEX" which wouldn't be valid on either Thameslink or the Elizabeth Line (and costs £45.10!).

Using the forum's split ticket site I'm seeing the above £28.60 fare to Terminal 5 via Farringdon and the Elizabeth line.

A cheaper alternative, albeit possibly a bit slower, is £16.71 to Feltham via Clapam Junction and then take the 490 bus for £1.75 to Heathrow Terminal 5. The bus takes about 30 minutes, runs every 20 mins or so.

Incidentally, it's possible to buy a through ticket to Heathrow via Feltham. The destination to use is Heathrow Bus (NLC 5564.)

Is this cockup or conspiracy? Ignoring Crossrail for the moment, why wouldn’t a single fare have been available to LU Zone 1-6 using the Piccadilly Line, or a single fare to Heathrow using Connect, (with a cross London marker), back when that still ran? Did the latter fare just never get introduced?

As Haywain says, that exists and is £22.70.

Just a warning that not all Elizabeth Line trains stop at Hanwell, including the direct ones to T5. So it might be worth considering a different split, even if it is slightly more expensive to get more flexibility.

Thanks for your thoughts. What a can of worms! In the end I bought a single to Farringdon and then tapped in for the liz line. Overall cost was about £30. More expensive than it should have been but more straightforward.
