Would you prefer to work a 5 day
week and have most Sundays off or work a 4 day week which includes having to work every other weekend ?

My rota was a five day week plus every other Sunday!

My preference, though, would be for a 4 day week, including Sundays.

Near where the 3 ridings meet
Mine on renewals used to be 417 hours in 13 weeks I think.
Averaging out at between 35 and 40 hours a week
made up of some 3 day weeks and a rostered shift at the weekend
and some 4 or 5 day weeks non rostered.
However on the non rostered we could work overtime shifts or even if time allowed a double or even a triple on the rostered weekend.

Most staff took Monday and Tuesday as their rest days. If allowed I used to take Thursday / Friday to make sure somebody at least was in the office most of the week.

You need to accept the fact that you do not have a social life and you get used to the odd hours.

I much prefer to work weekends. Our customers tend to need a bit more assistance which makes the shift go faster plus it means I can go shopping during the week, when the shops are much quieter!

I'd much prefer to work earlies mon- friday.

As it is at the moment I'm working all hours of the day/night and weekends if I think its needed.
I'm glad I took this weekend to get some fishing in before christmas.

Always a busy month

I'm currently working either 5 or 6 day weeks. Rota dependent.

For the past few months I've been working both Sat and Sun, with my day off being during the week.

I actualy perfer it that way. Having my day off during the week means I can enjoy some peace and quiet whilst everyone else is at work!

I work a permanent late shift and love it. I hate mornings as my body clock is so messed up.

I work 375 hours over a 10 week rota, with 1 week of lates (1300-2100) every 10 weeks, 2 weeks of earlies (8-4)and the rest are 9-5 or 10-6. We have to do 1 saturday 9-5 every 5 weeks, for which we get the Thursday off, I dont work Sundays at all as company stopped operating Sundays as was highly unproductive!

I'm supposed to work part-time, and two Sundays out of six. It rarely works out like this though, and I seem to be working 5 days a week (at least) - and a mix of earlies and lates. In preference though, I'd take a 4 day week with every other weekend working - and if I could choose, I'd take earlies over lates as I like having an afternoon to do jobs or go shopping etc.

In the past I have had a regular working pattern of Tuesday-Saturday which had a similar result - its so much easier to shop on Mondays then Saturdays!

I'd be happy with a regular 5 on, 2 off, regardless of which days. Random Saturdays and random days off is no good at all!
