An odd thing that fascinates me is closed bus depots, and where they were located. So, to start a new thread, I'm going to ask, where exactly was the old Wallsend depot of Go Ahead Northern? I believe it was located on Hadrian Road, but where exactly, and what's on the site now?

And, incidentally, if anyone else has queries about where an old depot was located, and what's on the site now, feel free to put it on here, and I'm sure someone will have an answer!

It was the south side of the metro line in the industrial estate halfway between Wallsend and Hadrian Road Metros. I believe its now Ashton Garage between Third Street and Hadrana Road

If you've got a thing for closed depots, check out the former Winterhill depot in Milton Keynes. The whole place burned down and is now a Homebase.

There were old Go Ahead depots at Bishop Auckland, Philadelphia and Park Lane, Sunderland. I can remember the old branding too; Go Wear and Go Northern. I also remember the old Sunderland CBS and the old Park Lane bus stations. Times change indeedy:|

I really don't know that part of the world, but you may find the resource that is Old Maps useful - it has historic large scale OS mapping, so many former bus / tram depots are findable on it. (as of course are lost railway stations etc!)

Not to mention Bensham works and High Spen. Having said that it may have been under Northern General rather that Go-Ahead.

Other former Northern premises were the large depot at Consett on Leadgate road(now housing) and Murton depot (off Grasmere terrace-also now housing).
