My son is train mad (11 year old) and has come up with an idea for his bedroom as it needs redecorating. He'd love his desk to be the table and seats from an (ideally virgin) train.
What do train companies do with their interiors when they are refurbishing? can any one help please?
and as to his idea of changing his door into one from a pendolino..!

Welcome, glad to try and help with suggestions.
Your best bet would be to email Virgin and ask for more information as to where you could find one of the seats. As said, there should be around 100 first class seats lying around from the Grayrigg Derailment in 2007. There is a fair bit of plastic on the bottom of them so it'd be really easy to drill a hole and place in the whirly wheels thingy (whatever they're called) that you have on office chairs.
There should be lots of tables and seats free so would be worth a shot emailing them also. On all 9-coach Pendolinos, a first class carriage was converted to Standard class, so there's a lot of tables and seats lying spare.
As for the door, it's a very bold idea (I personally love it), but obviously you'll be hard pushed to get the real thing. I'm sure your son is gearing for the trade mark "stripes" on his bedroom door so maybe Virgin might be able to lend you some assistance regarding the vinyl they used.
I always wanted an East Coast first class seat in my bedroom when I was younger - so it's nice to see someone else with the same idea; certainly brings back the nostalgia.
