When will be the new TSO Summer Timetable avialable?

does anybody know when the new TSO Summer 2014 printed Timetable will be available in the bookshops?

It won't be; they've axed it after the current ( winter ) edition!


( I contacted Middleton at the time and asked if they'd make their offering bigger to match the TSO version, and they said they were looking at it but didn't know - and they haven't been back to update me further yet. )

Ok that are very bad News, so if Middleton Press doesn't continue with the British Rail Timetable, which one is much more difficult to order, because Middleton doesn't offer ist via Amazon yet, there will be no printed British Rail Timetable anymore.

Which still aren't available. Leaving it a bit late again. The times have been on the booking system, and some TOCs have had their own timetables available for some time now, so what's holding up the publication of the full set of pdfs on the Network Rail site?

Full-sized? Does it not include every page of the PDF? (I have the TSO version this year, I've never seen the Middleton one so I'm not entirely sure what you mean).

The Middleton one shrinks the tables to use far fewer pages - more convenient in some ways, but you need good eyesight/reading glasses.

I thought that Middleton placed 2 pages(PDFs) together on the sheet thus producing a timetable page that is small and difficult to read. I'll keep to the Network Rail PDFs, thanks. Load the PDFs into iBooks on my iPad and then I have the complete timetable where ever I am. If I want to I can just print out the actual pages I require too - e.g. Doncaster to London day trip, print one page with the morning trains on and a couple of pages for the return trains.

I'm sure NR promised to bring them back once they'd got the hang of the new timetable production software.
It's only half a timetable when it only shows through trains...

They appeared on the Network Rail website on 17th April, which is more than 4 weeks in advance of the new timetable taking effect.

Middleton Press have just mailed me to say they have indeed made theirs bigger to match the old TSO version. It will be available from the 6th May.

Price including P&P will be £21.06.

Needless to say, my cheque will be in the post this week...

Yes, however I was thinking that the implied criticism of post #5 above was a bit premature. IIRC sometime between 5 and 4 weeks has been pretty much normal for a few years now.

Subsequent mails from Middleton suggest that while the print size will be bigger, the book itself will not be in the same format as the TSO; I am wondering if they are still doing two .pdfs per page but the pages will be bigger, thus a bigger bit thinner book than the TSO did... Well, I guess I'll soon find out...
