When first ordered, these units were dedicated for the Ayrshire coast lines. When did their use spread to the Argyle Line?

I'd say around 2001 when 334s started to take over Ayrshire duties, thus freeing up some 318s to appear on the Argyle Line, in turn freeing up 314s for the Cathcart lines replacing the 303s being withdrawn.
