When did Horwich works foundry finally cease operations ?

As far as I've been able to ascertain Horwich works was in use to manufacture rolling stock until 1984, but then continued as a foundry and spring shop only. The site was sold to the Parkfield group in 1988.
The rail connection was removed the following year (1989), and it`s in use as an industrial site (called Horwich Loco) at the moment.
My question is, was 1988 when the foundry, and all other rail related activites, finally ceased ?
