Not a bad haul. The Lima 31 was a good model back in the day (apart from the very long hooks).

From left to right: a Flangeway Salmon wagon (a few engineer's wagons will allow my locomotives to work with at least a little bit of realism); and a couple of Bachmann privately owned wagons which are completely out of time with almost everything I own, but they're from my local area so a liberal application of Rule #1 is called for!

Very nice! I have to admit, if I see wagons with local marks, they're also snatched up immediately even though I don't model that era.

That's my thinking- there aren't that many wagons available with places immediately around Huddersfield but any I see will be snatched up- so far I haven't felt the need to broaden the area to places like Bradford or Barnsley, but I may do one day. I've an old Hornby one branded for Scarwood of Longwood, which has old-style goalpost couplers. I'll probably use it to practice replacing those old couplers with the more modern slimline ones.

I've also had an email from TMC to tell me they've finished the custom detailing on my WYPTE 158, so 158910 (with Huddersfield on the destination boards) will be arriving soon. I really need to get started with building my layout, but I'm being held back by fear of messing up- which I know is daft, but there you go!

That’s a bit of a golden oldie.
At least with those older models they’re quite good fun to service and get running nicely again.

If you ever want any advice on how to get started then we’d all be more than happy to help out. Prices of new stuff can be pretty high sometimes it’s better to put a bit more money in than end up losing interest quickly due to running issues.

Also be a bit wary of false eBay promises!

Mine arrived today while I was out- bit annoyed that the box was just left in the hallway outside my door, but luckily there were no scrotes about to nick it!

You can't tell from the image obviously, but it sounds great!

Hornby GWR King class locomotive 6013 King Henry VIII ( tender driven, purchased 3 days ago for £45 ) and today purchased a McVities and Kellogs closed vans, catalogue numbers R727 and R222 respectively.

Not sure what the catalogue number was for the King class locomotive

They're a nightmare to keep going, especially if the have the older wheels that won't run over modern points! I have 3 units together once so at least one was going to restart the others that stopped.
Easy to maintain thought, just it's often to maintain!

It's arrived, and I'm going to do a few test runs tomorrow. It has collected some dust though.

Managed to get mine for £20 +postage from the auction site, which in the current market is pretty good.

Just picked up 3 Bachmann suburban coaches from a local newsagent consisting of 2 open coaches ( TSO ) and 1 brake coach, not sure if the railway designation would brake BSO or not as the parcels / guards compartment is seperate from the rest of the coach.

For all 3 coaches which came from Rails Of Sheffield I paid £54.50 + £4.00 P & P and apart from a buffer which had snapped off ( sent with the relevant coach for reattaching to the buffer shank ) they are in excellent condition.

I will post pictures of them tonight when I get back home.

Yep it's the Lima model. I saw a picture on Flickr of the same loco shunting Cargowaggons on a Cornish Clay branch & I've always wanted one !

Although I don't have a layout I've ended up picking up a few models I like after I saw 37025 Inverness TMD for sale locally in Inverness, I've been toying with it on and off but tonight saw an ok looking 68007 which I've wanted for a while so decided just to go for it.

How good are the Accurascale 37's? I do have an older Lima 37 in Mainline livery but I'm a little tempted by an Accurascale 37419 as that's one I've seen quite a few times here.

I've never owned an Accurascale 37, but from looking at quite a few reviews, the detail and overall quality of them really is quite phenomenal. It blows Bachmann's offerings clean out of the water.

Tomix 2623 and 2624 arrived in the post today. A pair of Japanese railbuses - one motorised and one dummy - for £50 on eBay, which I'm quite satisfied with. It fills a niche on my planned layout.

The Light Economy-Car IIs were built from 1984 to 1986 by Fuji Heavy Industries (now Subaru) for lightly used rural/suburban lines using a similar bodyshell to their production buses powered by a Nissan diesel bus engine. The window design is very similar to sightseeing buses of the time with the opening half at the bottom and plain glass up to the cantrail. Some railbuses were modified for one man operation with ticket machines and fareboxes, but I'm not certain if this particular example ever did. Also note no toilets, one thing the Pacers did have!

Depending on which variant you get, cheaper too!

DCC and sound-fitted don't interest me terribly, so I do enjoy the cheaper pricing.
