There was some view early on that the 350/3 had different driver functions in the cab (DAS was it?) which delayed their entry into service.

In layman's terms, what is that?
It's much like cruise control on your car, and the various train manufacturers have varying ways of doing it. Unfortunately I'm only familiar with the Bombardier and Hitachi versions and so can't be more specific with regard to 350/4s.
