Stock: IC225s, HSTSs, 365s, 317s occasionally, 170s, 180s, 158s, 66s, 67s, 222s, and other freight whizzing up and down.

Can't comment on attitude, but it is a fairly busy station: 4 x NXEC services an hour, hourly or half hourly cross-country services, East Midlands service hourly and NXEA services hourly.

Missed out 180s ;) But I'd go roughly when a GC HST is due

Actually NXEA is every two hours!

You will usually see 153's on the Lincolns - occasionally 156's. You will not see the 222's as these have now gone to EMT.

Freight can be hit and miss - I sometimes spend a day there - on one day there was 2 freight - the highest on the same period was nine!

they do not mind enthisiaits as long as you stay out the way. Only occasion when there was aproblem was when someone went down the ramp - and so we were told to leave the station - Whiel leavening the station manager gave us a wink and said "Come back in 1.4 hour once he has gone!".

I have always found the staff (those in the buffets as well as railway staff) to be friendly and helpful so long as you don`t pester them in their work.
Best locations "out of the way" are the north end of platforms 4 and 5, and the southern end of platform 3. Stand around on platform 2 at your peril:roll:
