Whats going on at Sandbach Station?

Hi all

On my daily commute to Manchester Airport I pass Sandbach station and was wondering if anyone knew what is currently going on there? As they appear to have dug a big hole in both platforms...(can't see much else due to wooden posts and high fencing...)

I suppose that's a possibility given the existing footbridge has been there years and there is no disabled access to the middle platform, which is not very handy for those wishing to travel north to Manchester

I passed the station today and noticed that this new footbridge has been installed. Does anyone have any details/photos?

Presumably disabled facilities are included?
