All passengers had to use the front door (of a 158) to board/alight at Chinley today, what are they doing to the station?

Have they reinstated the old bay platform?

Not like Duffield is it, where the frost has lifted all the platform edge kerbs? Done the same at Matlock apparently.

From what i can gather the cold spell didn't just cause the edging slabs to lift, but fall off completely, as at Duffield.
The usable parts of the platform may now be shorter than a 2car unit and so, in the absence of SDO, the Conductor may only let folks on and off via the local door.
I've not stopped at Chinley for a few months, but at Duffield last week you could only just squeeze a 158 on, and that was by putting the cab section on the ramp. Tricky to get spot on when the platform is opposite to the Drivers side.

Apparently one morning, after the thaw, the edge kerbs started moving - about 20 of them - all together - A one inch gap had occurred within 3 hours and they were gradually pulling the whole row over - that was when they decided to take them all up. All EM and Northern trains can use one end of the platform as normal. For TP services only the central door is used. No sign of them being replaced.
