What's an SAE?

I was looking at a Spitefire Railtours booking form, and it says "I enclose a SAE for my booking confirmation". What does this mean?

Edit: It's Stamp and Envelope, isn't it? -______-

It's a self addressed (and stamped) envelope for them to send the confirmation back (for the pre-email generations)

I remember seeing in a dictionary
"Self Addressed Envelope"
So for years, that was what I sent them

I then started sending a "Stamped Addressed Envelope"
However, I used the same address, as it didn't say to self!

I now consider junkmail as SAE
"Return to self"

I always thought it was "Stamped Addressed Envelope" is it actually called a "self-Stamped Envelope" then? Thats what I thought Andy Crane/ Peters allways called it.

To be honest, that would be nearer to the reality, but then again a self-stamped envelope might imply that the sender just had to stick the stamp on himself and not put his address on !!

I meant self-addressed envelope as it obviously fits the abbreviation of SAE

Gosh I'll get terribly confused in a moment.

It *should* be an SSAE - a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

Chambers dictionary only gives "Stamped addressed envelope".
Just to confuse things, you used to be able to by envelopes with the stamps printed on them, and these were sometimes referred to as "self-stamped".
