What would happen in this scenario?

A few years ago there was a case of a joker at an airport, who when he as checking in his baggage and was asked a question said that it contained a bomb.

He spent some time being questioned by airport security. I don't remember whether they let him get the next day's flight, or whether he was delayed for even longer. He'd probably stopped laughing long before he was released. The other passengers who were delayed while the joker's baggage was taken somewhere safe to be examined (maybe blown up), or who suffered considerable anxiety about what was going on, probably never laughed at all.

I think some imaginations might benefit from a dose of reality.

To bring a more bizarre twist to this scenario, what would happen if the person attempting this crossing was of substantial authority, with arguably more power than the border officials themselves. Perhaps a sitting MP, a senior Civil Servant or a millionaire CEO? I guess then in this case, the border officials would be more inclined to laugh it off.

The biggest thing that would be different would be negative publicity for the person concerned.

And there was the bloke who tweeted that he was going to blow Doncaster Airport "sky high". Ended up with a criminal conviction which affected his future career prospects, though I think this was reduced/quashed on appeal.

I'd been prepared to give the OP the benefit of the doubt on this, but I think it's getting a bit silly now.
