Tell you what would be a good route would be the Channel Tunnel Route.
Could you imagine the amazing scenery between the london terminal eg waterloo and then into the tunnel where you come out in paris with the ac lines and french signaling.

(French signaling) and English signaling combined would be a cool thing.
Just saying.

For me, the Bishop Auckland to Saltburn route would be outstanding for BVE, stock is already there. I actually looked into the prospect of doing it, then my head exploded, maybe one day.

Personally, I think BVE would be good for modelling closed routes, or routes to be reopened. Leaves something to the developers imagination too.
Examples would be the Leamside line or the coast route from Saltburn to Scarborough.

Central line full version, Epping, Haunalt loop, through Stratford, Central London, White city, to Ealing and up to Ruislip. In both directions.

Oh and the 4,5,6 lines for the New York Subway,and a Noth Bound A C E line aswell.

Branch lines (Looe Valley, , Newquay, Gunnislake)
Exeter St. Davids to Salisbury
Exeter St. Davids to Barnstaple
Isle of Wight (both mainline & preserved)
Ashford International to Hastings/Brighton
Hurst Green to East Grinstead/Uckfield
Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness

As with any modelling, the problem would be collecting enough information to be able to have a stab at doing something reasonably realistic.... unless, of course, you already have full-colour, "square-on" digital photographs of all the buildings, signals, bridges etc that disappeared half a century ago!!!

Then somebody would want period trains to drive....

I'm sorry you have misunderstood my post completely. What I was referring to was the modern version of these routes. i.e what they would/should look like today. This means it would be easier than modelling a real line and leaves the exact details/workings up to the developers imagination.

Yes, that could be fun... Consett to Newcastle via Shotley Bridge, Rowlands Gill, Swalwell and MetroCentre. With an almost constanty falling gradient, a 142 or 156 would virtually coast all the way....
