67001 & its assorted rake was at Banbury yesterday afternoon 1445 heading towards Marylebone after being stabled behaind Banbury South box - possible driver training?

Also does anyone what the works are being carried out on the up side of the station? It looks like something to do with stabling the stock although I could be wrong!

Yes, exactly that. Additional stabling, primarily for the loco hauled set.

I have read in the February addition of Modern Railways that ATW could be adding more Holyhead - Chester trains, but via a different routing to the existing trains using Class 67 engines and replacing the Class 57's with Class 67' on the existing route.

I must confess I am not sure how many coaches ATW has in store, bit would they have enough for the extra service or woul it be the case that the WSMR stock is used as well?

DVT of W&S 82304 photographed coupled to a 67 at Doncaster this afternoon. The number of the 67 wasn't discernable in the photo unfortunately.

67014 ran with 82304 as 5Z01, 09:23 from Wembley LMD to Doncaster Wabtec today, Friday 11th February. I understand that the DVT is to be fitted with some sort of generator set, though for what purpose I don't know. 67014 returned light engine to Wembley later.

Photos on my site of this move start here:

followed by a couple more. 67015 and 67008 worked as 0J67 from Wembley LMD, initially to Bescot and then on to Crewe IEMD on Wednesday 9th February, presumably returning to DBS as surplus to requirements at Wembley. Photos on my site start here:

also followed by a couple more.

Cheers, Geoff

Going slightly off topic for a minute - was influenced by one of Paul Birkett Greys excellent photoshopped fotopic phots, and came up with this...

i dont think the wabtec ones will be repainted as they have a paint warranty that would be invalid if they repainted it,more likely to rebrand them

well can't ATW have one to use for the new WAG service.

Its all political and gone quiet at the moment, ATW pulled training its Holyhead drivers on 67s when W/S finished.

Only time will tell, but DB want its its sets working now, not next December, I still think pinching a 175 May to Dec for WAG 2 @£620K is politics gone mad.
