I was at York station, yesterday, Friday 03 July and there was a charter train, operated by West Coast mark 1 ,2 & 3 carriages, about 11 coaches and T&T by diesels.
I just wondered what it was? It came from the Northern Direction and after pausing for about 5 minutes, headed off south.
It seemed to be completley first class dining. There seemed to be a real mix of rolling stock, all passenger carriages were Maroon and as well as the usual MK 1 & 2 coaches with top opening windows, there were some MK3 carriages too which don't have opening windows. I don't know if they would have Air-Con? There were two pullman livery kitchen cars with names from the Lake District along their sides.
