My relationship with GNER was rather love/hate, I liked them but they hated me, the GNER platform staff at Durham never really liked me, I used to do one from home quite a bit, and would end up annoying the staff at Durham, by sitting in one of there waiting rooms through the night, and would be generally cheeky and cocky, I ended up on good terms with the Platform Staff.
As for the on-board crews, I got on with most of them who I dealt with, I always found them to be a good service and used them quite a bit up and down the ECML, much better than Virgin and Northern in terms of customer service
