What uses the Dalton curve?

Just to be clear I mean the avoid Barrow-in-Furness line after Dalton station along the Furness and Cumbrian Coast Lines.

Is it only freight/specials services or are there any passenger services which uses it?

There are no timetabled passenger services which use it (it would make no sense at all to skip out Barrow-in-Furness!). Specials have in the past but these will be restricted in the future after Sellafield banned steam trains from using their turning triangle, but I believe that there are discussions to try and persuade them to think again. And of course it will continue to be used by freight

FWIW, there used to be a scheduled passenger service along this line, but I've no idea when this service ceased, but it was certainly before 1965.

The only freight trains which use that section are the Sellafield
to Crewe/Heysham trains on weekdays.

On Saturdays, the boxes are switched out, so 6C53 Crewe to Sellafield
and 6K73 Sellafield to Crewe are both routed via Barrow station instead...
