What train would you like to drive ?

This brings back memories.

As a carriage examiner, on the Piccadilly Line, in the 1990's, I was one of the first trained to shunt 1973 stock.

First trip on my own and it derailed the leading bogie over a set of facing points which, luckily for my future career, showed signs of a defect that would not have been noticed by an experienced shunter let alone a novice.

Also took control of a 7" gauge Black Five under a friend's (and owner) guidance - is it me or what but this loco also derailed!!?

My first choice would probably be a 185, but I'd happily drive pretty much anything.

I have driven a narrow gauge loco already - Neptune on the North Bay Railway in Scarborough

Class 139

....along the WCML?!

Perversely, I'd quite like to take a 139 to full whack on a line (not necessarily the WCML)
