What time do XC release tickets on the day?

I understand XC advances stop being available at midnight before the day of travel.
But at some point in the morning, they release same-day advances.

What time do they do that?
And are they ever cheaper than the ones the previous day?

Same-day Advances are usually available as soon as it is the day of travel. So, as far as I'm aware, that'd be at 00:00.

There may be circumstances in which specific restrictions on the number of seats available means that there is availability for Advances on the day but not before the day. I think this happens more on other TOCs which don't offer specific seat reservations for Advances purchased on the day - e.g. TransPennine Express - where sometimes there can be so many walk-up ticket holder reservations that even if there is still Advance 'bucket' availability, there are no seats to reserve into. Buying an APOD could then be cheaper.
