What real life station is this based on?

I doubt it is based upon a real station at all, especially with full length walling alongside the outer platforms, yet two-sided canopies, and no curvature at the end of the platforms.

And full height walling.

However, the basic station layout is not unusual, and in the London suburbs in particular a full set of canopies would have been provided from (say) 1900 to 1970, after which they might have been rationalised. The LBSCR was particularly generous on that front, but not unique.

Except for the wall at the far side and the complete straightness of the platforms, it does look very like Derby...

looks a bit like Golders Green on London underground

The station building is of a design you would commonly see during 1830-1900 when they based the design on houses to blend in to the streetscape.

Most likely circa 1850-1860
