What is wrong with this test train?

So a colas rail test train came up to Inverness this weekend with the locos 43277 & 43257 under 1Q18. It was supposed to go up the Inverness Aberdeen line but instead it stopped at Inverness. The next day it was supposed to go up the Kyle line but again it didn’t. And today it was supposed to go back down to Mossend yard, but again didn’t. Does anyone know why this is?

Looking at it 1Q18 arrived at Inverness, from Mossend Yard at 20:02hrs on Saturday arriving over the Highland mainline. It then made a trip to Aberdeen (00:05a) on Sunday morning. It returned to Inverness departing from Aberdeen at 00:11hrs.

Late running for these trains isn't uncommon. Just as much as a cancelled schedule may happen.

It does say 15 minutes early all the way to Aberdeen and back but I think that’s a glitch because I live next to the railway and never seen it go past at that time

I see what you mean. I've just run a replay, at work. I can see it running towards Inverness, from Mossend, but never operating any further.
