Rail greaser, coats outside of wheel flange with grease, for the check-rail shown.

Being (possibly very) pedantic, the rail greaser pictured will not grease a wheel flange that will interact with the check rail in the photograph as they are on opposite sides of the train (and there is nowhere west of Paddington H&C to turn a train). The check rail shown is to ensure that the other rail flange gets properly greased, and there will be a complementary set-up to grease the other wheel elsewhere.
