What is the most amount of bus operators operating between two places?

It can either be between different cities/towns/villages or just between the centre of a city/town/village and a suburb.

This is the most that i can think of so far:

Guildford to Merrow (6 operators):
• Arriva
• Buses Excetera
• Compass Bus
• Reptons Coaches
• Stagecoach
• White Bus Services

Can anyone think of any other examples of this anywhere in the UK?

Stalybridge to Oldham (four operators):
  • MCT Travel (408: Shaw - Oldham - Stalybridge - evening and Sunday journeys - no daytime journeys south of Oldham);
  • Stott's Tours (343: Oldham - Mossley - Stalybridge - Hyde (via Lees Road) - weekdays and Saturdays before 1800 hours);
  • First Greater Manchester (340: Oldham - Mossley - Stalybridge - Hyde (via Greenacres Road) - Monday to Saturday early evenings);
  • Stagecoach Manchester (340: Oldham - Mossley - Stalybridge - Hyde (via Greenacres Road) - Sunday and Bank Holiday daytime journeys).
Stalybridge to Ashton-under-Lyne isn't too bad going with three operators, hence in route order:
  • 219: Stalybridge - Ashton-under-Lyne - Piccadilly Gardens: Stagecoach Manchester (weekday peak hours only);
  • 236: Ashton-under-Lyne - Glossop (via Woolley Bridge): Stagecoach Manchester (daytime only);
  • 237: Ashton-under-Lyne - Glossop (via Hadfield and Tintwistle): Stagecoach Manchester (Monday - Saturday daytime)/MCT Travel (Evenings, Sundays and Bank Holidays only);
  • 348: Ashton-under-Lyne - Carrbrook: First Greater Manchester;
  • 353/354: Ashton-under-Lyne - Uppermill/Dobcross: First Greater Manchester (Monday - Saturday daytime);
  • 355: Ashton-under-Lyne - Uppermill - Denshaw: MCT Travel (Sundays and Bank Holiday daytime journeys only);
  • 387: Ashton-under-Lyne - Hyde (via Hattersley): MCT Travel (Monday - Saturday daytime);
  • 389: Ashton-under-Lyne - Hyde (via Ridge Hill Estate): First Greater Manchester (Monday - Saturday daytime)/MCT Travel (Evenings, Sundays and Bank Holidays only).

Oxford to Headington has 4(5)
  • Stagecoach Oxford
  • Arriva
  • Oxford Bus company
  • Red Rose Travel
  • (Oxford Tube, which is sort of separate to Stagecoach Oxford)
Then:
  • National Express also stops in both places, although one doesn't seem to be able to buy a ticket for that distance.
  • There's also Thames Travel if only going as far as The Plain

Central Reading to East Reading (London Road) has five operators, although one does not stop along this section and another does not carry passengers locally over this section.

- Reading Buses 13/14 (Woodley)
- Courtney Buses 127/128/129 (Wokingham via Twyford)
- Arriva 850 (High Wycombe via Twyford)
- RailAir (does not stop)
- Stewart's Coaches (only carries passengers to or from Thames Valley Park).

If you push that back to Bridge St, you can add the X39/X40

Arriva Kent & Surrey - 7, 401, 402
Nu Venture - 77
Autocar 222
Metrobus - 233
Go Coach - 289
(I have missed out school journeys for the above as there are far too many).

Hams of Flimwell also operate 3 school services, all listed on Traveline. There is also Centaur Coaches commuter journeys to London but I would be surprised if you could travel between the nominated places.
