Building on threads about best/ worst Transport Minister and about eg Manchester Cross rail or East West rail and DelayRepay I found this on radio 4 of interest, and to a degree enlightening and challenging:

It must be expected to be the case that a large proportion of Rail Forumites are enthusiasts for rail and thus biased, in a non-judgmental way of using that word.

I noted how over the years the Government 'Job Titles' and brass plaques changed, noting eg DoE, DLGR, DETR, DCLG, DLUHC, including 1970-74 a Minister for Transport Industries.

Perhaps a Secretary of State for Staying at Home , and travelling to work or the opera if you really can't do what you need on Zoom (other platforms available)?
