What infrastructure is needed to enable DOO?

what are the requirements for DOO running?

I know a few such as:

Mirrors/Monitors on platforms

Good lighting on stations

Dispatch staff at big stations

Body mounted cameras (on trains such as the class 378 etc)

It's just I don't know what radio is required for DOO.

When LOROL went DOO what did they have to get?

This link from the Railway group standards explains the requirement for train despatch with DOO and DGO methods of operation.

On London Overground, the 378s already had external bodyside cameras which broadcast images to the drivers cab so in this regard the conversion to DOO wasn't too complex, unfortunately from the guard's point of view.

Not required. Scotrail are actually removing/bagging them up as the 380s have onboard CCTV.

Signaling has to be up to a certain standard. No Absolute Block, and no NSTR (even empty stock runs must carry a guard on NSTR lines, or at least they do on the one I sign), infact I assume it's not permitted under any form of staff or token working.

Prepared to be told otherwise, but I'd be surprised if the lines out of Waterloo aren't signalled to a high enough standard. Midland Mainline beyond Bedford?

I would say there is a good amount of the network already at the standard as far as signalling is concerned. As mentioned above, most of the lines out of Waterloo, also a large amount of the WCML (but notably not for Manchester trains thanks to a small island of AB around Stockport). Lots of regional and suburban routes too such as around Birmingham. A lot of the sections that are still unsuitable are due to get resignalled over the next few years.
