What has happened to East Midlands Trains' Class 153 units

[I like Class 153]

What has happened to EMT's Class 153 units because I haven't seen them for a while I usually see them on the Nottingham to Matlock and Derby to Crewe services?

Last time I travelled on one was last week on Tuesday from Spondon to Derby and I haven't seen any since,

I know when they are booked for on the Nottingham to Matlock on Monday to Friday, they are follows:

most have gone to FGW and Northern i believe i read somewhere i'm sure that was EMTs, i could be wrong though

None of them have gone anywhere, they are still on the Derby-Crewe, Nottingham-Matlock services and most services from Lincoln.

, ive been on 1 153 this year and that was only because I was at Loughborough and just missed a 222 to Nottingham

Ive not seen a 153 for 2-3 months they must have disappered then again ive not been to see one so that could be why

The moves were the other way around.

Four were removed from service by FGW and were put in to storage at Eastleigh which EMT later snapped up.

153319 and 357 were also sent to EMT from Northern Rail.

They used to be on the Peterborough to Lincolns all the time but seem to be partly replaced by 156s.

Saying that a 170 did one trip one day I think because of engineering works.

To be honest, I don't think you should be slating the person for enjoying their interests and being a fan of Class 153s.

It lookks to me as it was just meant as a joke and banter like most things when it comes down to what traction people do, spoon goons, ped neds twacter insects and so on

I appreciate his interest in 153's but I felt that it was only right to point out that he was only talking about 11 days and not months/years. To provide a response without some form of prodded fun (for the mature users, read sarcasm) was just too hard to resist.

Why you like them is beyond me! They are all right for getting from A-B

With the exception of Liverpool-Norwich* and the London route, 153s can turn up anywhere on the EMT Network.

They are mainly on the Lincolnshire Lines(Barring Skegness except during strengthening). a couple of months ago now there was a shift to strengthen the Matlock/Crewe Routes by using 156s and 158s.

The only booked 156 for the Peterborough-Lincoln-Doncaster route does the following:

0510 Nottm-Spalding

Spalding - Peterborough Shuttles

0833 Peterborough - Lincoln
1015 Lincoln - Peterborough
1148 Peterborough - Lincoln - Doncaster
1425 Doncaster - Lincoln

Also Nottm-Lincoln-Sleaford can be used as an diversion for the Nottm-Grantham-Sleaford route.
