Sold my last chariot back in 2000 and, since then, I've hired cars as & when I need 'em. Yes it's a drag at times but my commute is by rail anyway and it has been cost effective.

Besides, it means I get to play with new toys each time I hire. Best driver's car that I've rented by far: four days of throwing an Alfa Brera around the moors and country roads...

My current work hack for buzzing back and forward to the box is a Rover 114 Gsi (Metro), suprisingly quick and great fun. Though this is soon to be surplus to requirments as I will be living a lot closer to the new box an will just take the MG

An the main motor is an MG ZS 180, this is now my second ane as I could not find anything else that appealed to me and gave the same smiles per pound
Belts due end of this year so saving already lol

Now that is a very good car! Ford just brought out a new version of the Ka but it is nowhere near as good as the old one.

Personally, I drive a Volkswagen Passat CC. When I saw it on the telly my jaw dropped. The way they have streamlined it is incredible, and it puts plenty of power down on the A1(M) as well!

Admit it, you want one!

Me personally? I drive a 300 metre long, 70,000hp ship! I could pick all your cars up and drag them around the world, and still have fuel left over in the tank!!

I strongly recommend the VW Golf. It is perfect. It has lots of space and will easily do the run to Sainsbury's, yet performs just as well out on the motorway.
Tonnes of power and an awesome ride! It was my first car, and whilst I love my Passat CC, I'll always miss the little guy!
