What colognes/fragrances do you like?

Do you have a favourite cologne or scent?
I'm curious to know what sort of things members wear out.

I'll go first...

BVLGARI Le Gemme Tygar is my absolute favourite scent, which is always my go to for a special occasion. It's got notes of grapefruit.

I do have a few other Bvlgari colognes that I like, but this is by far my favourite.

I don't bother these days - if I'm going to spend upwards of £30 on a bottle of liquid it has to be around 70cl and drinkable!

How many normal people are going to spend £350 on a bottle of aftershave?

If I wanted to walk around with a whiff of "grapefruit notes", I'd buy a couple from Tesco at 55p a piece, rub them on my skin and then spend the remaining £348.90 on something worthwhile.

Having said that, if you're wealthy enough to be able to afford to splurge on such frivolities, fair enough - it's your money.

Not a fan of strong smelling fragrances, I have a selection from Next that I like as they smell nice but not too strong.

I used to work with a woman that drowned herself in the same awful smelling perfume every day for years, I really don't get how anyone could do it to themselves!

I keep forgetting to put on cologne. But I love woody scents over citrusy ones. I particularly loved this bottle of L’Ocitane cologne that I haven’t had in a while. My first cologne I was ever given was for Christmas 2010 I think it was, a bottle of Paul Smith, so I’ll always have a fondness for that.

I have a selection
Cheap £30 bottle of Tommy Hilfiger from the Airport and bottles from Lidl for everyday use.

I have a Givenchy perfume for special occasions, previously I had Dolce and Gabbana for this too.

I've never heard of BYLGARI before, not sure I'd be willing to entertain such an expensive price.
It's all margin and the fancy bottles you're paying for, the product probably costs less than £50. Expensive fragrances are probably £100 kg I would have thought

I'd go with the Wright's Coal Tar already mentioned or Carbolic which is also excellent as a shampoo as long as you keep it out of your eyes, mouth, nose, ears, etc. If it's for a really special occasion then maybe a splash of that Hai Karate as advertised on tv.

I’m another member of the sneezing fraternity. I’m not sure that wearers of after shave and cologne realise how objectionable they make themselves to some others in close proximity, e.g. in lifts or adjacent seats in crowded trains.

I gave up on using aftershave years ago. For around 20 years now I have been using moisturiser after shaving instead. I do use body spray regularly but have never used any of the very expensive ones like BVLGARI Le Gemme Tygar. I mainly use body sprays which I suppose could be described as mid range by Hugo Boss, CK, Polo etc. Most of these used to be priced at between £20-£30 ten years ago, but have increased significantly in price these last few years. A bottle will last me for months.

One doesn’t drench, and quite genuinely, I can’t smell the aftershave I use once it is deployed.

A bottle will last me for months.

A 75ml bottle of what I use lasts me two years, and I use it pretty much every day.

Tom Ford - Lost Cherry and Noir Extreme are my go-tos. The original Dior Homme which can only be bought on their website too.

I don't tend to buy EDT any more because I find the scent fades quite quickly on me, EDP and parfum are preferred.

Bvlgari Tygar is given out for free on Emirates - nice scent but I always give the bottles away!
