I hope that studying in retirement will qualify for entry within this thread, as I am researching into "The Harrying of the North" and the subsequent entries in the Domesday Book. in which many former Anglo-Saxon towns were described as "waste" areas after the Norman campaign was waged, then completed. I have been spending time on this for two years at present.

Is the Physics Dept. Still on F and G Floor of the UMIST Main Building nowerdays or is it all on Oxford Road now?

Nope, Physics is the whole Schuster Lab (Brunswick Street) and the top floor of 2 sections of the Alan Turing Building and also the whole 3rd section. Oh and Jodrell Bank.
