What are the levels at NWR and where does an apprentice finish up?

I'm aware an apprentice gets a Level 3 in engineering but where does this bring them out after the apprenticeship? I assume it would be at operative level or above considering the 3 years training but wouldn't like to assume.

Thanks

It brings you out at technician and you will earn the current technician wage applicable for the depot and apprenticeship type you have done. However, i’ve heard you aren’t guaranteed a job at the end of it and you still have to apply. Cant see them turning you down though

Ok thanks! I imagine that's circa £30k down this way for OH lines.

Does anyone know what comes after technician or would that be a move to a different department/management?

Regards

Generally technician but occasionally people do come out as operatives. There should be a reason for it (aka not being capable), not just the manager not wanting to pay more, but a few are awkward. I've never actually heard of someone not getting any job at the end of it though, usually they'll have you "share" a job until a vacancy comes up.

Is the culture generally just keep your head down, work and don't get involved in other people's business?

Thanks

If you show interest, willing, and work hard you won't go far wrong.
