I received a notification that my train from Dorchester South is now departing 5 minutes earlier, with arrival at Waterloo unchanged.
It turns out that from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th August departures are retimed in each direction.
I can't see any reason for this, there are no engineering works, temperatures are forecast to be lower than what we have had previously this year, and it's for five days only.
I couldn't find any explanation on the SWR website either.
Does anyone here know why? I'm just curious.
