Does anyone know what will be running the Saturday only Bristol-Weymouth train this year? Also are EMT running HST's to Skeggy again this summer?

Skeggy will be a HST in the high summer.

I guess the rest of the route is in the 50-90 range?

It's possible that an HST could pop up, probably unannounced, on the Weymouth runs, as there is a fair bit of 'practise' going on for the Olympics when they get the opportunity, but the regular booked working should be units. I have to say I'd avoid any summer weekend train on the Bristol - Weymouth route at all costs myself! :roll:

A lot of track east of Boston has been renewed but there is still some more to do later this year, no doubt after the summmer season.

I beleive that when all the work is completed the restrictions will be removed and some sections raised from 60mph to 75mph, but not 100% sure on the latter.

The part limited to 30MPH is between Boston and Skeggie doesn`t go longside anything other than fens. Before Boston it does go alongside the main road but that is 60 mph. Modern Railways state that once the track is fully relaid and I can`t remember exactly when its finished but seem to remember that it is this autumn or latest next spring then it could be raised to 75 mph. The line was closed fully for obe month in February 2010 and approx a third of the distance was relaid with track recycled from the ECML and then recently closed in evenings except Fridays in February 2011. As a substantial amount of track has now been relaid I can`t see why thye cant rais the limit for those sections. The timings seem to be the same as previous years.

I'd have thought that, given the comment, and the stock FGW has, it'll be either 2 x 158 (one three car) or 3-car 158 + 150 or something with a 153 in it. Heart of Wessex services are usually 158 when I've seen them.
