Anyone on it be sure to give me a flail at Farnborough (unless I go to Woking or Salisbury)!

I see 5Z53 is the returning coaching stock, but why does it go via Guildford and Reading? Not often you get a Western through both of Farnborough's stations in one day :lol:

Perhaps to get a member of crew home? The quickest way to turn the set would be via the WLL and Acton Mainline then via the Greenford loop or reverse and go straight into OOC if the set is in the preferred direction.

normally on a saturday evening and sunday's the wll and the wcml fl/sl are closed after a certain time for enginering works, that might be the reason.

It was so bloody hellfire!!
On the return journey we got into Pinhoe 16 Mins Early!
Even the Dartmoor Railway laid in 31+Mk2+379xx for the final shuttle

We had some haulage behind the magnificent D1015 and it was great! Hope there's another tour with it soon!

Shame it was on the southern, the devon banks is that place to see it. Can be heard for miles at Totnes when on a Paddington-Penzance run.
