Thanks alot D1001,it was a great day out,as have all my trips with 1015.
I was lucky enough to see all the 1000s in service and I never thought ,after my last visit to the scrapyard at Swindon, with lots of 1000s there,that I would ever travel behind a Western on the main line again.So I make the most of 1015s runs when I can afford them.

You didnt get the driver to sound his horn did you?

Good pic can i ask why the train had the domino on the front, i didnt think the Westerns had them

The domino dots are on the roller blind I believe.The third blind from the left has a clear space so the head light ,required on todays railway, to show through.
The blinds can display a reporting number as shown here;
