West Midlands trip

On Thursday I'll be basing myself in Wolverhampton and visiting the 5 newly opened stations: Darlaston, Willenhall, Pineapple Road, King's Heath and Moseley Village.

I will try to also do that crack of dawn Wolverhampton to Walsall service if it is still running too. It has eluded me 2 times so hopefully third time will be a charm.

Will a (not sure which) rover ticket cover the five new stations?
Also, from which station is the cheapest single ticket to Pineapple Road so I can have a souvenir?

I would have thought West Midlands Day Ranger will cover the newly opened stations this can be bought in advance on the day from any Northern ticket machines.

You’re a few weeks early. The 05.53 (Sat) Wolves to Rugeley starts 23rd of May.

Isn't the cheaper West Midlands Daytripper valid for these stations?

As is the AnyTrain (though that doesn't cover the tram.) That's £8.50 Off-Peak and £10.50 Peak, against £8.90 Off-Peak for the Daytripper and £11.10 for an nNetwork One Day (which covers Bus, Train and Tram.)

Anytime day single or off peak day return from Kings Norton or Kings Heath (next stop either direction) is £3.10

You can do the whole distance of Willenhall to Pineapple Road for £3.50 single or return after 18:30.
An off peak day return for the same trip is £7.40, anytime day single is £6.40 - cheaper than the TFWM day tickets if that's all you want to do.

Also looking to do the five new stations and tram extension, but starting from Hemel Hempstead, I think the best option excluding advance fares is splitting at Coventry (£24.30 for LNR off-peak day return or £18.40 for super off-peak return + £8.90 for a Daytripper = £27.30-£33.20) rather than at Northampton (£18.55 for an off-peak day return + £23.95 for a West Midlands Day Ranger + £3.50 for the tram = £46).

Would I be correct in thinking that splitting at Northampton would bar using Trent Valley stoppers between Milton Keynes and Rugby, as well as being more expensive?

Yes; if you split at NMP, your train needs to go that way.
