The electronic time restrictions encoded in the PSO (off-peak) PAYG fare are 'not before 09:30'. If that's really what they're going with, it would mean that those currently buying Anytime Day Returns for a typical 9-5 commute would pay quite a lot less, as they would only pay a peak fare in the morning.

I can only imagine they will be changing this before the scheme goes live, unless there is a massive change they haven't told us about yet...

Before your post prompted me to look the FareGo range up I actually thought the readers were another Vix product!

NEWS UPDATE | Cannock Train Station

A newly installed contactless tap-in/tap-out payment machine at Cannock Train Station has been vandalised less than 24 hours after it was brought into service.

The equipment, recently introduced by West Midlands Trains, allows passengers to simply tap their bank card or compatible device to start and end their journey, similar to the system used on the London Underground.

However, images shared this morning show the screen of one of the new machines has been extensively damaged, just a day after installation.

The incident is likely to cause disruption while repairs are carried out and raises concerns over the needless damage to newly installed public infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the Friends of Hednesford Station have commented that similar vandalism has been affecting equipment at Hednesford Station for several months, highlighting what they say is an ongoing issue across the local rail network.

Anyone with information that could help identify those responsible is encouraged to contact British Transport Police.

I would hope that WMT have a comprehensive SLAs to stop these vandalisms undermining the PAYG scheme

Is there somewhere with a summary or announcement of the scheme? I'm curious what stations are intended to be included. Based on that Facebook post it sounds like just using a bank card will be accepted like TfW and TfL has, which is good.
