Heres what I think, LCB colour scheme stands out from the usual, irking all the way back to the 80’s! Nice!

Of course you'd love it. What about the ECB scheme? Even Stagecoach Beachball is more pleasing on the eye than the depressing Grey/Mint Green of ECB!

Sarcasm aside the LCB livery is smart.

I'm surprised this wasn't picked up, but just to confirm most of the rumours regarding the 600... Evidently it's NOT being extended in to Edinburgh. Just to Ingliston P&R.

Like German car design, it should be evolutionary not revolutionary, the simpler design looks clean and seated well within the whole land scape of the countryside.

Similar to the way I do like Grampian Buses livery.

I was expecting to hear more by now, all i've seen so far is some posts on Twitter from various outlets who haven't really given anything away or told us anything new.

These sorts of affair are usually more wide ranging affairs - don't know how much detail you're actually expecting or in what sphere. Put it another way - what do you think they are wanting to achieve by doing a business breakfast?

I'd expect that they want to bang the drum about the challenges they are facing like the LEZ but also increasing traffic congestion etc, and the need for bus priority. Also how the bus can help achieve emissions targets but needs a level playing field. They will want to talk about the investment in contactless and mtickets (and how that has driven improvements) and potentially about what else they may wish to do.

What they aren't going to be doing is talking in detail about the WL situation.

Going by what I've read that's actually just about spot on .

As TheGrandWazoo has pointed out, this morning was a networking event for Edinburgh businesses – they were paying £35 to enhance their contacts and (hopefully) get a decent breakfast, not hear about buses in West Lothian. *If* there is news about service developments, the First PR machine will swing into action.

Fair enough, i was just expecting they would announce the service changes in West Lothian next month to coincide with the speech.

Look out West Lothian! Our Managing Director, Andrew Jarvis (@jarvisthebus) will be speaking at @EdinChamber on April 24th. He'll be discussing our journey so far, as well as our big plans for the future. Find out more about the event here: http://bit.ly/EdinburghChambers …

for a second time Jarvis said above there would be a press release..

Well clearly there isn't going to be a press release, and IF there is then it'll be released when it is ready. Be patient! Getting all upset and agitated on a forum isn't going to make it happen any quicker!

No one is getting upset or agitated... Just that we had expected a press release this afternoon or some sort of announcement regarding the service changes on the 13th of May. Clearly that has not been the case.

I think you’re being rather too literal about things and perhaps assigning a bit too much to it given your knowledge of the operations. Think of the audience at the breakfast. What will they be interested in? And it has to be (West) Lothian specific rather than just Scotland for that audience. You have to look at things as if you know little or nothing as that’s where 99% of people are coming from. You can know too much.

Those big plans - yeah, might mention the 600 but could be equally about technology. They clearly stated how they’re driving non cash or off bus sales? What is the next big thing? How are they combating the Uber challenge or the greater gig economy?

As for the press release, that can be delayed if they’re including certain of what was discussed today and that may have to be reviewed before release.

Yes the LCB changes are the 13th, i got them mixed up. I know the registrations have went through, however they don't actually give any ideas as to what the changes actually are.

First are altering timetables in West Lothian on Monday May27th with extra 7 vehicles on the PVR, as I said earlier the aim is the have a bus from all the main towns in WL to Livingston every 5 minutes which leaves not much room for other companies to manoeuvre, you can also expect a few "specials " fares to coincide with the same date.

But we have no confirmation of that, at the moment it's just a rumour accurate or not. Certainly 7 extra vehicles will not be enough to provide a 5 minute frequency from Livingston to all main towns in WL.

The changes on NP stating timetable changes on May 27th.
I will try and explain
Whitburn 21,22 26 and 600
Armadale 21 ,25
Bathgate 21,25,26A
Blackburn 21,22,600
Broxburn / Uphall 24,25 x23 ,600
East Calder 23 ,X23
Extra buses added to services 21 22 23 25 600 will put most of these onto an increased frequency .
Just my opinion though will no better once first release the timetables.

Alas 5 of the extra buses will be on route 600, since it will be every 30mins, where is the other two going?

I know about the changes that have went through DVSA and are on the latest N&P, however they don't reveal anything in terms of a frequency increase, which is why i'm saying it's just a rumour (accurate or not) right now.

LCB are due another change? Surely you must mean the X17 launch! Is there a link to the actual first changes besides the ones mentioned on here

2 extra to operate Livingston to Airport, another 2 is needed to operate Whitburn - sky - Livingston Its possible to do it with 4 and cut the layover at either end, but that could cause troubles.

Is it really though? there’s definitely a difference between a service launch and a service change lol ;)

It's still a service change though as it's a "change" to their network of services.

I dont think it will take 7 buses to run that service .
It will as it's half hourly. Even if you just increased the current route to half hourly you're already talking 4 buses, the extension to Whitburn and Ingliston is where the other 3 buses come in.
