Not an expert at interpreting those codes, but am I right in reading two separate incidents, one involving a delay on the northbound Highland Sleeper out of EUS and then a subsequent train hitting tree incident?

but will the tree be prosecutted for trespass :)
LOL, It's actually the 3rd tree on this stretch of the line in two weeks, altho it was 67011 that was doing the duties at the time:P The have been removing the trees latley in the Garelochhead area but obviouslly they haven't thought too far ahead! the Oban line used to be a bad place for the trees but there hasn't been one hit on it for over a year now i think.

I was on the highland sleeper, (Inverness), only 4 hours late at it's peak

They'd ran out of refund forms in Inverness

They gave us the old forms on-board, which we were told to fill out, give to the train crew, who would pass to their managers who would contact us directly regarding compensation, or we could wait till we get home and go the normal way.

Have now had to cancel what I was planning to do, (Kyle), as due to the delay there's no berths on the Highland from Inverness so can't transfer from the Lowland :(

No wonder theres no refund forums, they use 158s up there!! lol, you havent missed anything special by not doing kyle besept being in a claustrophobic 158 with a bunch of old fogeys doing 30mph:P try the west highland line, recently voted most scenic line in the world ;)

By one magazine - the first time rail featured in it's awards... Kyle has some amazing scenery, and I far prefer kyle to WHL.

Fort William - Mallaig is better cos u can do heads out pictures etc on the Jacobite but ive heard there is gonna be steam to Kyle next summer. Was recently gonna do the Kyle line on an ALR but due to awful weather i caped the idea, would much prefer to do it on Mk1s anyway better for pictures.

I'm not complaining, I'm going to get a fair amount of compensation, sitting in the Aberdeen first class lounge atm, getting an NXEC to Edinburgh then the Lowland back down. A short little trip, the point of which was to go to Kyle, I'm no longer going to Kyle, but a nice little time waste considering how much im gonna be getting back xD

I know 158s have to do 30mph on most of the kyle line, wouldn't steam have to go slower because of the weight?

Kyle is cracking. The West Highland is hardly high speed either.

1Y11 Fort Bill portion terminated just the 316 late at 1510 (vice 0954)

Must be annoying if you're on Corrour platform, waiting as I was recently. No mobile signal and no phone. May be possible to phone from the B+B opposite(where I stayed) if it's open.

There's work going on there at the moment to rebuild the up side of the platform. The 'gang' has taken over half the B+B for 5 weeks. Don't know how on earth they can work there - I got eaten by midges within 30 seconds of stepping outside the door.

Out of interest what's the compensation likely to be if over 5 hours late? More than a refund, surely!

There were engineering works on the WCML. The planning error was that they'd disconnected the points at Wembley yard, trapping the stock in the depot.
