Cancellation of Libra 94 service from Bath just gone through VOSA today effective Jan17.
Tried to access the VOSA BSR search this evening and got a message on the page saying "This service has now moved, please go to www.gov.uk/government/organisations/traffic-commissioners for access to the service you require." but unfortunately if you go to that page it gives you a link which takes you, eventually, back to the above message.

What is the new address please?

Dave

If the 94 does drop I wonder if Libra's step entrance Mercedes Vario SF07 DLO will go too? Saw this vehicle today in use on the 96, and seen it before at the same times, but the Solo's off the 94 could do it instead?

Have you seen how many Varios Libra Travel actually use? They have quite a fleet https://www.flickr.com/photos/77751...1LW-JQgTj2-DEWCzq-q8uJuH-bozyp1-dDDTcL-D8y8nc

GEOGRAPHICALLY OFF TOPIC

I was slightly out of area yesterday in East Wiltshire, namely Marlborough. After a short drive down, I passed through Pewsey to the W&D outstation that had fewer vehicles there than I remember (2 e400, 1 Omnidekka, 2 Solos, 1 Tourist coach). I put that down to losses to Hatts (now Thamesdown) around Marlborough, but perhaps that some work was with Tourist at Figheldean.

Got there to discover that Go South Coast have closed that depot down entirely (all in Salisbury?), now derelict and up for sale. We've seen First draw in their horns in West Wiltshire/Frome area and I knew that GSC had obviously scaled back things but it did surprise me how much they've cut back.

Blimey didn't know they had more than one!

Figheldean closed some time ago, not ages ago though, my 2015 book has Figheldean as a depot, I recall someone saying it closed end of 2015/early 2016, don't quote me on that though.

Not sure if all the coaches are now at Salisbury, I've seen a fair amount there when I've gone to the depot to see whats in.

Tourist or Salisbury Red Solo SR vehicles work the Salisbury - Figheldean run, and I asked the driver at the end what he'd do now since there's no yard to park up in, and he said 'I just go empty to Salisbury now'

A little light hearted diversion from the south west's buses as Bristol Taxi operator Cityfox publicises it's services with this tweet & photo. https://twitter.com/cityfoxt/status/802369495633448960

I'm not entirely sure what to make of it.

What's wrong with it? We are the only company that actively promotes the use of safe, legal taxis. The lady in the photo is my cousin, this was a staged shot - hence the lighting.

I doubt it, it seems to not work whoever tries it! Seems like nothing can get at the X5!

I can’t see how the X5 competes with it, the first one doesn’t get to Parkway until 9.30 and the last leaves at 17.50 (later on Saturdays!) so not wonderful for commuting and useless if at Aztec West. Perhaps First may add a couple of journeys but the loss of the X18 suggests the market in the area still isn’t there.

If buses could use Waterside Drive between Patchway and Aztec West then the X5 could more easily serve Aztec West without the big diversion.

Indeed, I suspect that you're right. Not certain that the X5 could have any effect nor would it be particularly attractive:

CF Aztec West to Portishead Combe Road (19 mins) and Weston (78 mins)
X5 Aztec West* to Portishead Combe Road (52 mins) and Weston (117 mins)

* Estimated as if Waterside Drive was used

Sometimes you just have to accept that some traffic flows aren't strong enough

According to the 'Save 51 bus service' Facebook page, Wessex are planning on introducing more PM peak buses from sometime in Jan.
https://www.facebook.com/save51bus/?hc_ref=PAGES_TIMELINE&fref=nf

Well it's good to see at least some buses are being redeployed! I wonder what service we will next see from Wessex? They have tried a lot over the years, but not a Bristol to Bath service. I am thinking maybe something along the lines of the 37 as it is a more marginal route and it could push First off it easier that the 2!

You might be making a bit of sense there. If they plan it right (which they wont) there could be a money maker in competing on stuff like 37 and 17. I can't see them wanting to do anything yet though.

I really don't see that being likely. The 37 isn't exactly a pot of gold and having two operators running at a loss...especially when First have nailed their colours to the mast and have gone hard at Wessex at UWE and UoB, they're probably ok with running at a loss.

They could've had the 17 anyway - wasn't like they were running a load of SGC tenders and coining it........

timetable already on travelline. evening peak up to every 20 mins from every 30, later evening journeys up from 45 mins to everyu 30.

Cheers, I'm surprised they haven't done the same with the AM peak to make it a 20min frequency throughtout the day. It would be useful to commuters.

I noticed a few of the Wessex Omnicities have been Debra fed last week and I saw YT61FEP earlier on the one with hallmark logos and rear branding for the 458 service at Staines?

YT61FEU has also been done, and some of the B7RLEs are advertising £1 singles on the one.

Looks like Wessex have been doing weekend Picadilly Line Rail Replacement work:
