West Coast Railways Rolling Stock

On board a recent tour, I noticed that the WCR coaches are looking a bit shabby inside and out. They don't seem to be looking after the Riviera stock very well either. The vestibule and door areas looking not very well maintained. The carriage roofs look rusty, in need of care and a coat of paint.

As other charter rolling stock owners seem to be keeping theirs looking good and well maintained, does this suggest WCR are losing interest? Or are we going to see some investment?

Run your finger along any flat surface in the vestibule.
Would not be allowed in service if one of our trains.

Theres other aspects, such as the air conditioning not working fully, which on coaches that have no opening ventilation, on any other service provider would most likely see them failed, and taken out of service, and of course, as far as is known, no West Coast Rail MK1 has of yet had CLD fitted, which makes you question, are West Coast hoping that the tour operators will just accept it, because there is no one else they can turn to.

They also seem to have defective PA in many vehicles - not sure how that fits with their DOTE (Defective On Train Equipment) policy as it is a safety system.
