West Coast Railway at Hooton

Hi Everyone , This is my first post so dont flame me

Yesterday morning just before 12 I was at Hooton and noticed a West coast Railways train consiting of 2x Class 47's and a rake of 12/13 coaches.

Bit unusual for a sunday I thought, It was standing in the platform closest to the ticket office.

Anyone know what it was for ?

Also, the Loco's looked very grubby ! If I get a chance ill upload a pic I took on my phone

That'll have been the stock from Saturdays' "The Mid Cheshire Scot" railtour, run by Compass Railtours using West Coast Railway Company stock from Hooton to Edinburgh and back.

It must have been stabled there prior to returning to Carnforth.

Yep it stabled overnight at Hooton after returning from Edinburgh before returning ECS to Carnforth. Same procedure took place this weekend after yesterday's Hooton-Canterbury tour.
