108 has apparently been repainted into Rushcliffe Villager

Maybe the Solo SRs 504/505, currently on Rushcliffe Villager, will be used to "upgrade" another route. One could see some of 480/483/491/492 being replaced.108 has apparently been repainted into Rushcliffe Villager
I've always wondered how MMCs handle such a tight route, I know that some are put on the route occasionally due to the reliability of the RV solo SRs however do they manage? Even the branded buses struggle as it is so it will be interesting to see108 has apparently been repainted into Rushcliffe Villager
When Skills operated to East Bridgford they used 12metre leopards and volvos. Rarely was the size a problem. I do realise there are more cars everywhere and they didnt cover the full route but also operated market day services to Bingham from Gunthorpe area as had Lamcote previouslyI've always wondered how MMCs handle such a tight route, I know that some are put on the route occasionally due to the reliability of the RV solo SRs however do they manage? Possibly however 504, 505, and 506 are all Sheffield complient so may see of nearly some/all of the last remaining non complient TM solos (467, 472, 473, and 474)Maybe the Solo SRs 504/505, currently on Rushcliffe Villager, will be used to "upgrade" another route. Them 4 solos are all euro 6 so shouldn't need replacing because of them not being CAZ compliantnearly some/all of the last remaining non complient TM solos (467, 472, 473, and 474)
Interesting. I suggested about size as I was on a trip on 505 recently and due to some badly parked cars, they were not that close together might I add, it got stuck in the estates in Radcliffe (not too familiar with the area so I could be wrong on that) and it took a good 5 minutes of the driver honking the horn to get one of the vehicles owner to move their car... and on multiple occasions, we had to mount the curb however I would blame the optares wheel forward design more than anythingWhen Skills operated to East Bridgford they used 12metre leopards and volvos. Oh ye so they are. Thought it was only 63 plate and newer for versas and solosThem 4 solos are all euro 6 so shouldn't need replacing because of them not being CAZ compliant
I think I know the section you’re talking about (Newton Avenue and Clumber Drive) - it is very tight but that part of the route was served by full size buses during the Radcliffe line years (Scania Solar) and Optare Excels on the brand before that (Rushcliffe Lines I think?). I’ve done the RV on Volvos and that did feel like the tightest part of the route to meInteresting. Don't forget the Tempo 306, too.I think I know the section you’re talking about (Newton Avenue and Clumber Drive) - it is very tight but that part of the route was served by full size buses during the Radcliffe line years (Scania Solar) and Optare Excels on the brand before that (Rushcliffe Lines I think?). Tim Traynor, regular driver of no. 8, will be most upset.Notts + Derby deckers 8 and 9 have now left the fleet. They were the last Omnidekkas in service in the Wellglade Group
718 has been "under repair" at the front of A garage for many, many months. Okay, since about February (2026). One minute it has an engine in, the next out. Sometimes it has its rear panels on, then off again. For much of the time, sister 761 has been undergoing the same work. Quite what is taking so long. Maybe they replace one part, a week .Anyone know of a plan for 718? I recall someone had said it blew its engine, wasnt 705 scrapped a few months ago for a similar reason?
718 is now in the car park but still not finished with. I have seen them working on it recently but other stuff must get in the way.718 has been "under repair" at the front of A garage for many, many months. Okay, since about February (2026). I am amazed it has actually moved from it's spot in A garage .718 is now in the car park but still not finished with. I have seen them working on it recently but other stuff must get in the way.
Perhaps they are using it to train engineering apprentices?718 has been "under repair" at the front of A garage for many, many months. Okay, since about February (2026). 705 was written offAnyone know of a plan for 718? I recall someone had said it blew its engine, wasnt 705 scrapped a few months ago for a similar reason?
Yes sorry was probably 704.Do you mean 704?
Yep, both 704 and 705 were written off. I recall, 704 had not long been painted in Mango livery.Do you mean 704?
I believe 704 suffered a mechanical/engine failure leading to its demiseYep, both 704 and 705 were written off. I recall, 704 had not long been painted in Mango livery.
704 suffered an engine failure from reference to posts #2828 to #2831. I’d imagine it’s a useful parts bus having seen that it was heavily stripped in the depot.I believe 704 suffered a mechanical/engine failure leading to its demise
I believe that a lot of 750s parts to repair it after it's incident late last year came from 704.704 suffered an engine failure from reference to posts #2828 to #2831. I’d imagine it’s a useful parts bus having seen that it was heavily stripped in the depot.
I wondered if 724/725 were due to be used as trainers. And 716 seems to have been repainted for trainer duties - i thought that was the cascade plan for the ex swift/comet volvos when they’re eventually displaced?
"142" was actually 714.either there’s been some machine swaps/mistracking or some very odd allocations today…
142 was out on indigo
209 out on the i4
