Surprised the Evora isn't being trialled on Swift. Aren't they short of a branded spare for that route? What does the branded comet Volvo do when the Evora is out in service in its place, seeing as it's branded livery prevents it being used on other services

Apparently CWT Recovery expressed serious concerns, that they may need more trucks, if Versas were used. I'd have thought the use on the Comet might be because such is more needed on longer routes. The ADL can then just potter around Cities.
That sounds like a funny line someone said, not an actual fact

I've heard 491/492 could be made available if you want them. ;). Even 493/494, although they have a reputation.

Been a couple of times, I imagine it would have been used, if it had been red .
Can't see 491/492 being freed up anytime soon. 493/494 are not too bad but Burton road has probably taken its toll on them.
Maybe buses released from other routes through a cascade
The only pair I can think off is 493/494 if 841/842 enter service over the summer.

The last I heard of 841/842 were that they were painted in Harlequin base livery. Maybe they are having a seriously thorough overhaul. But, re the Solos. I thought it was said some time ago that they intended to get rid of the Solo in the Trentbarton fleet. Of course 504 to 506 are still at Nottingham

I had heard it was going to be tested on a variety of Derbys routes, clearly this hasn't been the case.
Only because they don't want to risk scratching it on the tight lanes of the swift for example. The comet is nice open roads so the chance of anything happening is quite a bit lower

I'd have thought you could say that about xprss38 too, where there has been vehicle shortages

Bus enthusiast gets VIP treatment for prom

A nice story from Trentbarton today - they laid on a bus for a bus enthusiast and his family to go the school prom.

A bus enthusiast had "the best time of his life" when his local service gave him and his family a free personalised lift to his school prom.

Sam, 16, has been a bus spotter from an early age and his grandad was a diesel engineer for trentbarton for 28 years.

The bus company worked with mum, Gemma, to surprise Sam and take him to his Heanor Gate Spencer Academy leavers' party at Pride Park Stadium.

"We had party lights, music, a disco ball and it was amazing - we had the best time of our lives," said Sam.
