The generic spare is just as likely to be on Flixbus as Red Arrow. There is already a Red Arrow spare in the batch 900 to 909.

Probably the best reason I have heard . Why you'll get some. Let's be honest, it will be the smaller vehicles that come out first. Maybe some Solo SRs to upgrade on 480/483.

solos are the marmite of buses you either love them or hate them. as a passenger I think I've got stolkholm syndrome too them now. although some more vehicles to derby to keep the PVR up would help regardless of where they are borrowed from.Surely you want more solos? I heard Sutton drivers love them

Appreciate the design was iconic and they've lasted the test of time, unfortunately at our depot now - even on connect they just don't match the demand for capacity.

Solo 6 (the one remaining Solo with mainly longitudinal seating) has been marked as withdrawn on Bustimes.

I never knew it had that seating. Must have been one I never rode on ...well since it worked in Derby. I guess it reduced the number of seats.

Additionally, 820 seems to have paid a visit to Loughborough depot instead of returning to Ilkeston on the my15. According to Bustimes, it seems to have made a wrong turn into Summerpool Road before finding its way to the depot!

Yes, most of the seats in the low-floor section were replaced with longitudinal tip-up seating to accommodate more standees.
Only by 2 apparently, but more standing room so more ideal for campus shuttle where your only carrying student for a short trip around the campus
Do you know if they are going to keep say 1 or 2 of the slimline solos for DRT incase one of the vans breakdown? Unless they can manage with E9Ls on the DRT as spares

It's also been reported on Thederbybusdepot news (link here) which also says 72 (FJ10OXM) and 76 (FJ10OXS) are withdrawn. Not sure if these are being sold going to Nottsderby or what
personally (speculation) I would give them Nottsderby to replace the two Dennis Javelins 56 (YU05ZKV) and 65 (YRC182) to get rid of the oldest coach and help standardize a little bit to volvos and scanias unless they want to have all 4 (72,76,56,65)

I question if there is a slim possibility of either 801 or 830 returning to TB from kinch to replace the demised 804 on the my15 unless the my15 versas have replacements lined up this year via cascades

I think the MMCs on the Indigo might be the most likely candidates for primary replacement. They're now nearly eight years old, and I think Trentbarton have figured out that four-pot MMCs aren't their preferred choice. Otherwise, there aren't that many bus routes that could justify getting new buses that haven't gotten MMCs already. However, they may need to get some smaller buses in the coming years as Trentbarton pass their Solos, Solo SRs and Versas on. And then there is the question of electrification: Trentbarton's last bid for electric buses never came to fruition.

Nothing has been mentioned to staff via any internal communications - usually it is known by now, but it doesn't mean anything.
The main thing we've been told is it's all systems go getting kinchbus' electrification complete along with the sixes and suitable displacements as and when appropriate post this.

Could see skylink Nottingham being high on the list for new buses.
Can't see alternative fueled vehicles arriving until they get funding towards them, like they have in Loughborough, and who can blame them.
The Volvo's seem quite reliable at Langley Mill, perhaps they are worked to hard at Derby on swift, x38 and comet!

Personally, I'd say there was zero chance of Notts and Derby having 72 and 76. I suspect 56 will keep going, using spares from 55. I thought 65 was fairly new, like 09 plated. More chance of suitable Volvo coaches (not ex Red Arrow ones).

Buses will get replaced if the profit justifies the return. Is the future clear? After all, the EM Mayor might decide to go for franchising, and as we have seen in Manchester, there may be unexpected outcomes. Is the MMC the right bus for Trentbarton? Especially the 4 pots. Allestree route seems to be struggling. One had an engine replacement and is now MOT expired. Three of the others are close to MOT expiry, so many days a PVR of 5, becomes just 3 buses working.

Although there was rumour that the last batch of E200s would be the last so maybe there is simply some ongoing debate about what to go with instead, if that is of course true. Evoras supposedly were ruled out due to their seating options it doesn’t leave much else open to use, unless they just bit the bullet
Skylink and Indigo would’ve been my expected ones also
I can’t see many electrics being suited to most of TBs routes as the majority are fairly high mileage, it will be interesting to see how the yutongs hold out on the 9
The one bonus to the kb yutong rollout at least trent should get at least 6 spare vehicles returned which they seem to desperately need at the minute
How do they compare with things like the Stagecoach X17? On that, the E12s can last a full day, while the E400EVs need swapping on to other services.
That said, there was a discussion I read elsewhere that the range of a typical EV bus is around the same as a diesel bus would achieve on a full tank, and batteries are only getting better.
